We are pleased to announce the opening of Galerie Neukölln and are celebrating this historic moment with So weit, So gut (So Far, So Good), a solo exhibition by So Lazo. On August 9th, Galerie Neukölln will present a collection of their work created over the past two years in Berlin.
Visitors can anticipate a unique selection of So's illustrations and designs - full of Salvadoran myth, shrill pathos and revealing personal suffering - as both a retrospective and milestone of their artistic journey.

So Lazo (They/Them) - the most fabulous illustrator from El Salvador has been living in Berlin for nearly three years. With an academic background in graphic design, So discovered their passion for illustration and antithetics during their studies and developed both into their distinctive style and successful personal brand.
Their compositions are influenced by the colorful and chaotic environment of El Salvador, perceptions of nature, cultural mythology, and personal experience. So shapes the boundless freedom arising from illustration and creates highly emotional works within this realm. Through the discourse of essentiality and the deconstruction of calendar poetry, So analyzes tragedy and beauty in bright colors.
So has emerged as one of the most important visual storytellers of the Berlin illustration scene and fascinates in the exhibition So weit, So gut (So far, So good) with their empathetic perspective and bold creations.
